At least that's what I had thought before tasting ChocoVine, a mixture of chocolate, Dutch and French cabernet sauvignon made in Holland by a division of Dekuyper.
With the taste of chocolate and $ 11 price would be easy to dismiss as chocolate liquor from a poor man, like Godiva, but ChocoVine is a totally different.
It's thinner than a liqueur and tastes like milk chocolate with a shot (14 percent alcohol). It can be sipped on the rocks, added to coffee or as a base for a variety of cocktails. It is also good for up to six months after opening.
Vi ChocoVine in Tulsa area stores a month ago, and more sold fairly quickly. Another shipment came in last week, so check with your favorite stores for availability.
It would make a fun gift for host New Year parties or just a new interesting drink to try at home.
