Starbucks' sales have fallen by 6 percent, but people still drinking coffee, according to Consumer Reports. They are only what is at home. Coffee sales are up.

Many of today's coffee makers tout luxury features and high price tags to match. Consumer Reports tested 50 machines and found out about the best.

"Our test measures the ability of beer to get a coffee at 195 to 205 degree. That's the temperature you need to extract more coffee flavor," said John Macchia, with Consumer Reports.

The tests were the manufacturers of traditional drip coffee and beer stations. Prices range from $ 20 to $ 265 for a Technivorm, which is heavily promoted by coffee connoisseurs.

But that high price to make a better cup of coffee? While Technivorm reached the proper temperature, the testers said it was very easy to use.
