While light rain falling this morning, the ice forms along the trees and other elevated surfaces cooler. If not treated, can become slippery roads.
The potential is there for a glaze of ice to form on these surfaces before freezing rain became rain this afternoon. Most places can expect up to a quarter inch of ice accumulation, with higher amounds about a half inch possible in the southwest of Roanoke in the New River Valley.
